Sara Wolff is a Norwegian-born, Liverpool-based artist whose music glows with quiet intensity, weaving indie-folk, art-pop and off-kilter electronics into dreamy, observational songs.
Her work is rich with analogue textures, field recordings and subtle experimentation, drawing comparisons to Cate Le Bon, Tune-Yards, and Jenny Hval.
Her latest single Lost In Your Neighbourhood (out now via Lost Map’s PostMap Club) is a gently psychedelic reflection on memory, time, and transformation. “I wrote it after finding myself in a place from the past, and realising how far I had come,” Sara says. Produced in Margate with Mike Lindsay (Tunng, LUMP), the track features slowed-down recorder sounds, old synths, and Gregorian-style harmonies – a sonic palette that feels both ancient and modern, familiar and strange. It’s the perfect tempo, Sara jokes, “to walk to, eat cereal to or wriggle your fingers along to.”
Since 2018, Sara has steadily built a reputation for thoughtful, finely crafted songwriting, with previous releases on Lost Map and Small Matter Records gaining airplay from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6Music, Amazing Radio and Worldwide FM. Her 2023 Magic Hour EP was accompanied by a UK tour with her band – and a trusty four-track cassette machine. She has shared stages with artists including This Is The Kit, Helado Negro and Fenne Lily.
Beyond her solo work, Sara is also an accomplished composer and sound artist, with credits including short films, contemporary dance scores and experimental audio projects. Her work often explores the overlap between human experience and the natural world – she also runs her own soundwalking collective, Sound Pals.
